With just over week to go before the annual Eccleshall Show the hard working volunteers who make up the organising committee are busy putting the finishing touches to their preparations for the 82nd show.
The Show takes place on Saturday 31st August at Sugnall Parks just a few miles out of Eccleshall on the Loggerheads road. He gates open at 10.30am.
Advance tickets can be purchased at a discounted price via the show website or from the offices of main show sponsor James du Pavey until 30th August. Adult tickets cost £8 on show day, £7 in advance. Children (5 to 16) cost £5, £4 in advance. Children under 5 are free. Concessions are £6 on show day, £5 in advance. A family ticket for two adults and up to three children is £23, £18 in advance.
If you can’t get to the showground by car, there’s a minibus service from both Eccleshall and Loggerheads. The Eccleshall service leaves from the Police Station at 11.00am then every hour on the hour until 3.00pm, calling also at the Pershall Court flats en route. The return bus runs every hour on the hour from 12.45 until 4.45pm. The Loggerheads service runs from the Loggerheads pub car park hourly from 11.00am until 3.00pm, returning at 11.45am then every hour until 3.45pm.
There’s still time to enter the classes in the Horticulture and Craft marquee – full details are on the show website. Entries must be in by noon on 28th August. If you’re bringing your horse, pony or dog, entries for the various classes can be made on the morning of the show.
